Airport lighting

Millions of new LED lamps lower the operation and maintenance costs of airports around the globe.

If you are lucky enough to have a window seat, you will enjoy a symphony of LED lights during takeoff and landing.

The precision approach path indicator PAPI shows pilots the correct approach angle.

Along the runway lights indicate the touch-down zone, centerline and edge lights

Red lights indicate the end of the runway. The following taxiway has a green centerline and blue edge lines.

With many thousands of lamps on a runway, light efficiency and reliability are key. LED technology has enabled a great leap forward compared to previous incandescent lamps.
