The Stadium of Superlatives

The Allianz Arena - one of the most modern stadiums in the world - provides football fans with a spectacular view of the pitch. The hardcore of the FC Bayern Munich support packs the areas behind the two goals to cheer on their team. Away team supporters occupy the third tier in the north-west section of the stadium.

THE OUTER SKIN

The largest textile membrane in the world A total of 2,760 diamond-shaped cushions help create the unique appearance of the Allianz Arena. The ‘skin’ of these cushions is just 0.2 mm thick. 1,056 diamonds around the facade of the Allianz Arena can be illuminated in red, blue or white.


75 minutes before kickoff

Entrance/Mixed Zone The soccer players arrive by team bus in front of the Mixed Zone and step into the Allianz Arena.

Only 30 minutes

Changing room FC Bayern Munich The players leave to warm up. 10 minutes before kickoff they meet again in the changing room for final match briefing.


The last 5 minutes

Player's Tunnel The referee gives the signal for the players to lineup in the player's tunnel. 2 minutes later they enter the stadium.


Video board system

The total area of the board system in the Allianz Arena is 224.1 m² and has 4,302,720 single lights . If all lights were put in a line they would illuminate a track of 17.9 km.


High-quality turf

The football pitch in the Allianz Arena is 105 m long and 68 m wide. The entire surface beyond the line markings measures 111 by 72 meters and has a total area of 7,992 m². To install the 320 tonnes of turf, it takes 2.5 days and needs twenty trucks to deliver the grass layers.

Every match another turf

The turf height differs for every sport. The smaller the ball the shorter the grass.

Executive Boxes

Each of the 106 boxes at the Allianz Arena has been individually fitted out by its owners. All of the boxes vary both in design and capacity.

The most spacious box offers accommodation for 62 people, while the smallest is perfect for 8 guests. Box owners do not just have use of the facilities for Bayern Munich home games, they can use their boxes 365 days per year.

Refreshment Kiosks

1.23 sausages sold every second. There are a total of 28 refreshment kiosks in the Allianz Arena, all operating flat out on match days. In the 4.5 hours that they are open they sell on average 20,000 sausages, 15,000 soft drinks and 40,000 beers.
